Who is Becky London?
Becky London - audiobook narrator, actor, and coach - was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she grew up in a Jewish family full of doctors and nurses. She’s spent some time in New Haven and in Los Angeles, but now lives in New York City and considers herself a pure New Yorker through and through.
A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, Becky is a founding member of UNYYC (the Unofficial New York Yale Cabaret), and a senior faculty member at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. She has been acting, mostly in comedy, with great joy and abandon for years. Her work has ranged from the hilarious Off-Broadway “Vampire Lesbians of Sodom” to the sobering film “United 93”. Outside of performing, Becky has worked as a medical transcriptionist and is fluent in medical terminology. She’s an expert in film history all the way back to the beginning of the industry, conversant in American Sign Language and enjoys running, baking, and painting. Throughout her life, Becky has negotiated many bumps in the road - she can speak deeply and personally about difficult subjects such as depression, eating disorders, widowhood and being a single parent. Becky finds Nonfiction delicious, especially self-help for women, and histories of all kinds. She enjoys narrating mysteries, (cozy and otherwise), Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Listeners trust her combination of dry humor and dead-on honesty. She brings truth and intensity to her characters, and finds the emotional heart of the story, Fiction and Nonfiction alike. |
Special loves:
She is fascinated by animal behavior, especially social animals like dogs, wolves, gorillas, dolphins, you name it. She loves Alan Rickman in anything, getting past the third mile in a run and making Jell-O Knox blocks. She will laugh like an idiot at stand-up comedy.

Amy L. Bernstein, author |
"Becky's voice can be cultured and graceful, or crisp and high status and domineering, or softly purring and sensuous, or low-toned aggressive and dangerous and ballsy, or lifted and softly delicate and innocent...Becky has range. Her cadence and timing for comedy is impeccable, her phrasing and word coloring touches your heart and tells the story that needs telling. Her voice has variety and is infinitely expressive. She is one of those rare actors who has control over her vocal instrument and its amazing range while also remaining utterly honest, authentic and real.”

“When Becky narrates, she becomes the character and suddenly the words have immediacy – they pull you in and you are engaged.”

“Becky brings each voice to life in a unique way. She imbues the main character, Rags Goldner, with edgy curiosity, while the other woman in the scene, Evelyn Rutter, exudes the pain and heartbreak that stems from her daughter's disappearance. I felt the characters' various needs and struggles as I wrote. But hearing their pain and longing voiced out loud...well, there's nothing like it. I'm so grateful to Becky for making this audio masterpiece."
